KADME Crawlers to walk 100 KM in 30 hours for Oxfam
Posted on February 21, 2011
Would you walk 100km in 30 hours for Charity? That is a question to which 5 employees at KADME have answered a resounding yes.

KADME is proud to be supporting a group of five colleagues competing in the Oxfam Trailtrekker 2011, taking place 4 June in the UK. The team, the “KADME Crawlers”, named after the data crawlers developed in-house at KADME, will walk a one hundred kilometer course within 30 hours through the English countryside to raise money for Oxfam UK.
According to KADME Crawlers team member and Trailktrekker alumnus Miguel Morgado, “You don’t just rely on yourself. It’s you, the team, and your support team. When your colleagues finish you can see something has changed inside of them. It’s an incredible experience combining endurance, navigation, determination and teamwork.”
It’s for a great cause. Money raised for Oxfam through Trailtrekker will help support the needy in emergency response and disaster relief as well as longer-term development projects. All funds raised go directly to Oxfam.
Training. The team members are training both on their own and as a team. The team recently completed a 30 KM mountain trek in the mountains near Sandnes, Norway. One team member, Marius Schrecker, is walking to and from work each day, racking up an extra 50 KM per week in addition to his Trailtrekker training. The team’s next training will be a flat 45 KM walk, which is less than half of what they will do on the official day of the Trailtrekker event.
Support the Team! While we’ll leave the training to them, they do need donations to make their walk a success! The team would be very grateful for any contributions from colleagues, clients, friends and family, or those just wanting to cheer them on. Won’t you support them with a small donation today? Their fundraiser webpage is just a click away.
Sponsorship Opportunities. The team welcomes additional corporate sponsors. If you would like your logo on the team t-shirt, which will be in all official Trailtrekker photos, contact team leader Edward Hands for more information.
